CBSE migration certificate

What a CBSE migration certificate is, when you need it, and how CBSE now issues it digitally through DigiLocker (Parinam Manjusha).

Reviewed July 2026

What is a CBSE migration certificate and who needs it?

A migration certificate confirms you have left CBSE and are free to join another board or a university. It is commonly asked for at the time of admission to a university or a different board. CBSE issues migration certificates to all Class 12 students automatically, and to Class 10 students on request.

How to get your CBSE migration certificate

CBSE has moved its academic documents — including the migration certificate — to its digital repository "Parinam Manjusha", which is integrated with DigiLocker. After results you can download it from DigiLocker once your account is activated.

  • Activate DigiLocker using your school code, roll number and the 6-digit security PIN from your school.
  • Find the migration certificate under your issued documents.
  • CBSE has been phasing out separate physical copies, so check the current rule for your batch.
