What is the Ruk Jana Nahi (RJN) scheme?

The Ruk Jana Nahi (रुक जाना नहीं) scheme is an exam opportunity run by the Madhya Pradesh State Open School (MPSOS) for Class 10 and Class 12 students who have failed or want to improve their result in specific subjects. Instead of having to repeat the entire year, students can appear in only the subjects they need to clear or improve — without losing time or your regular school admission.

The scheme translates as 'Do not stop' and reflects its purpose: giving candidates a second or additional chance to clear pending subjects within the same academic session.

Two sessions a year: the typical June and winter windows

The exact dates for each session are announced by MPSOS on their official portal. Always check the current academic year's schedule to confirm the application and exam windows.

  • June–July session — usually the first opportunity after Class 10 and 12 results are declared, sometimes running into early July.
  • October–November or December session — the winter or second-chance window, typically held around November to early December.

Who is eligible for Ruk Jana Nahi

Check the official RJN notification each session to confirm any additional eligibility conditions for that year.

  • Students who did not pass in one or more subjects in the Class 10 or Class 12 board exam.
  • Students who wish to improve their marks in specific subjects without retaking all of them.
  • Candidates must have appeared in the regular MP Board exam or an equivalent examination recognised by MPSOS.
  • There is typically no age bar or restriction on the number of attempts, provided you meet the basic eligibility.

How to fill the RJN form on the MPSOS portal, step by step

  1. 1

Visit the official MPSOS Ruk Jana Nahi portal (mpsos.mponline.gov.in) during the application window announced for that session.

  2. 2

Click on 'Register' or 'New Registration' if you are a first-time applicant, or log in with your existing credentials.

  3. 3

Enter your basic details — your name, date of birth, roll number or registration number from your previous attempt, and contact information.

  4. 4

Select the subjects you wish to appear in. You can choose one subject or multiple subjects depending on your need.

  5. 5

Review your selection carefully — any changes after submission may only be allowed within the time frame MPSOS specifies.

  6. 6

Proceed to fee payment. The fee is calculated per subject (not a flat amount for all subjects).

  7. 7

Complete the online payment using the payment gateway MPSOS provides — typically a bank transfer or digital payment option.

  8. 8

After successful payment, download and print your admission slip or application confirmation.

  9. 9

Keep your application number and admission slip safe — you will need them to access your exam schedule and appear at the examination centre.

How the per-subject fee works and what to verify before paying

Always verify the current fee structure on the official portal during the application window. Fees can vary by year and should never be taken from unofficial sources or coaching sites. If the portal or official notice provides a fee amount, use only that — do not rely on older information. If you are unsure, contact MPSOS through their official website or the provided helpline before submitting payment.

  • The prescribed fee per subject is set by MPSOS for each academic session and is published in the official RJN notification.
  • If you are attempting two subjects, you pay the single-subject fee twice. If three subjects, you pay three times that amount.
  • Payment is typically made online through the MPSOS portal's secure gateway (NEFT, RTGS, or card payments).
  • No refund is usually given after payment is processed, even if you do not appear for the exam, so confirm your subject selection carefully before paying.

Ruk Jana Nahi FAQ

Is there a separate admit card for the RJN exam? Yes. After your application is confirmed and fees are paid, an admit card is generated on the portal. You must download, print, and carry it to the examination centre along with a valid photo ID.
